10 August - Flemish model Jess Donckers becomes face of Madonna's lingerie line (denied)
Madonna's new fashion line Material Girl is in stores only since a week and there's already news on her next fashion project. All Belgian media are full of reports about model and playmate Jess Donckers becoming the new face of Madonna's upcoming lingerie line 'Madonna Nude 1979'. Jess Donckers (28) is a Flemish presenter at the game channel Gunk TV and modelled earlier this year for Playboy. The pictures were picked up by Madonna's people. "They were looking for a tall slim blonde with character and great breasts, and then I came along." Donckers said. With her 1m77, 56 kg and 80C-cup, she meets the requirements.
Donckers admits being a Madonna fan since she was a little girl. Working for her idol is "something huge". When asked if she would mind appearing in a music video or maybe even French kissing Madonna, like Britney once did? "For Madonna, I wouldn't mind becoming lesbian for a while", Donckers laughed.
Frank De Mulder will do the photo shoot at the end of the month. The lingerie line will hit stores in september. (sources: HLN, Het Nieuwsblad, translation by Mad-Eyes)

10 August - Madonna power helps at Macy's
Macy's delivered a July fireworks show for investors [Thursday] - with a little help from Madonna.
The nation's biggest department store reported a better-than-expected 7.3-percent increase in July same-store sales, or sales at stores open at least a year.
While other retailers, including rival JC Penney, were singing the back-to-school blues with sluggish monthly sales reports, Macy's CEO Terry Lundgren said the season is "off to a great start."
Lundgren cited the "phenomenal launch" of the new "Material Girl" fashion line, designed by Madonna and her 13-year-old daughter, Lourdes. Aimed at teenage girls, the 1980s-inspired line will include clothing, shoes, handbags and jewelry.
On Tuesday, Macy's launched the collection at the company's flagship store on Herald Square with a performance by pop star Taylor Momsen, who drew throngs of girls dressed up like Madonna. Macy's shares yesterday rose 34 cents, or 1.8 percent, to $19.78. (source: NY Post)

02 August - Madonna in Paris to direct her new movie
The Material Girl is illuminating the City of Light, where she's shooting her latest film, W.E. Dressed all in black and heavily accessorized in dark shades, a hat and a patterned scarf, Madonna directed Saturday's shoot in Paris' tony 6th district.
The 51-year-old singer made her directorial debut in 2008 with Filth and Wisdom, about a Ukrainian cross-dressing punk-rocker.
Madonna is not the only U.S. star to film in the French capital this summer.
Last week, Woody Allen was shooting his "Midnight in Paris" on location near the Pantheon and in a park behind Notre Dame cathedral. The film, starring Owen Wilson, also includes a performance by France's first lady, model-turned-singer Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. (source: AP via Yahoo)
