One interviewer made a remark about how many songs on the Ray Of Light-album had something to do with water: Drowned World, Swim, Mer Girl. Madonna answered that water is one of the most essential elements of life.
Personally, this song is my favorite of the album. It's often underestimated. It's so vulnerable and at the same time so powerful.
