The lead-off single from the album MDNA, featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., was released as a digital single on Feb. 3, 2012. The worldwide radio and video premiere followed the same day. The cheerleader track seems to have been written specifically for its performance during the halftime show of the Super Bowl XLVI on Feb. 5th at the Lucas Oil Stadium of Indianapolis.
A demo version of the song leaked online in Nov. 2011. A few weeks later, a Spanish fan was arrested for the leak (though he was released soon after). The final version turned out quite similar, except for added vocals by Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.

Video

The video, which was directed by Megaforce early Dec. 2011, features Madonna with her bad girls Nicki Minaj and M.I.A in a cheerleader/football theme inspired by the Super Bowl. No matter how many people appear in the video, there's clearly only one star in the spotlights. The football players fight for her attention by filling puddles with their jackets as she walks by, and taking bullets from a machine gun for her. Madonna reminds us both of a sexy Bond girl as well as her own Marilyn Monroe persona from the Material Girl video.
The video premiered on Madonna's YouTube channel on Feb. 3, 2012 and received 1,5 million views that same day.
