Beat Goes On was also used as a video interlude preceding the Futuristic Rave segment of the Sticky & Sweet Tour. This time it was a remixed version, combined with parts of other Hard Candy songs, most prominently the 'get stupid' line from Give It 2 Me, which is how the video got dubbed by fans. The politically charged video caused great controversy for comparing terrorists and dictators like Hitler, Mao and Mussolini to US Republican presidential candidate John McCain. Later in the video, images of world leaders and heroes Martin Luther King, John Lennon, Bono and the Dalai Lama also include the Democratic candidate Barack Obama, who would later become the 44th US president.
