The inspiration for Impressive Instant came from 'Naive Song', which features on Mirwais' album Production.

For a while Impressive Instant was rumoured as the fourth single. Then Amazing was set instead, but pulled back afterwards. Later the rumours returned when it appeared that remixes were made by DJ Peter Rauhofer and offered to clubs. There wasn't a commercial release but in October 2001 the dance track debuted on #25 in the Billboard Club Play Chart, then jumping to #12 and #4 and topping the charts in its fourth and fifth week. This makes it Madonna's 27th #1 dance hit. It also makes Music her first album with four #1 dance hits.
Tour
Drowned World Tour: After Drowned World the show kicked into higher gear with Impressive Instant. And it was certainly impressive! Maddy was surrounded by dancers wearing surreal bug masks. She pushed them aside, bodysurfed on their hands, then started crawling on the floor as a vicious master. A truly stunning performance!
