Danceteria
Lyrics
Off the train, four, five, six
Walk through the club, don't wait for shit
Meet this boy named Martin Burgoyne
He's my best friend, he's my boytoy
We see the line, it's way too long
Cut to the front, there's Haoui Montaug
Waves us in, No Entiendes
I'm not sure you understand this
Face to face, bodies all around
Temperature is rising and the sweat's dripping down
Everybody's watching now, oh yeah
I don't care
Get on the elevator
I run into Debi Mazar
Take us to the third floor
Walk us to the dance floor
Then I see Mark Kamins is the DJ
He's the DJ, hide the cocaine
He played my tape, "Everybody" (Everybody)
This is how we start the party
It's not what I say, it's not what I do
It's how my body language talks to you
I just want to lose myself in the groove
Get over here
Everybody get up and dance
Everyone here is a work of art
Everybody get up and dance
(Everybody, everybody)
Everyone here is a work of art
Everybody get up and dance
Doo, doo-doo, doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo, doo-doo, doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo, doo-doo, doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Let's have some fun, let's have another one
Wanna get dirty

Song
Danceteria tells the story of how the Danceteria night club in NYC played a pivotal role in Madonna's early career. The song contains references to Mark Kamins, the DJ that gave Madonna's first demo cassette to Seymour Stein, head of Sire Records, Haoui Montaug, the doorman and promoter of Danceteria and the creator of the cabaret revue No Entiendes, and Madonna's friends Martin Burgoyne and Debi Mazar.
The dance track already created a buzz amongst people who attended album listening parties. A first public preview came as part of "Confessions II - The Film", where the song is played during a hot bathroom scene, featuring a bunch of celebrities, including Debi Mazar, Kate Moss, Benedict Cumberbatch, Gwendoline Christie, Honey Dijon, Arca and Richard E. Grant.
