Mad-Eyes.net,
dubbed "The fansite dedicated to Madonna's beautiful eyes...
and her fantastic music of course!", was launched on July
2nd, 2001. Webmaster Bartie had just seen the Drowned
World Tour in Barcelona and Paris, and started writing a tour
diary. That diary became very popular in the fan community.
Gradually the site was extended with a news section
and infopages about all her songs, films,
videos and tours,
among lots more. Later that year, Mad-Eyes had its first big exclusive
when it was the first to reveal the album art work for GHV2.
But the best recognition was when Madonna's management contacted
Mad-Eyes. They had seen the pictures that we had taken at the
G.A.Y. gig in 2005
and Madonna herself loved one of them so much that she
wanted to buy it! Soon after she used it for the single cover
of Sorry! A visit by the
idol herself is the best recognition a fansite can get!
Mad-Eyes is kept up to date by Webmaster Bartie and Assis
Dani. Many others have added their contributions to the
site: all the wonderful avatars and wallpapers
were made by Tony Z., and many concert
pictures were provided by Marcin K., Daniel J., Daniel
P., Josh B. and Axel P. And of course many thanks as well
to the many visitors who send their suggestions, corrections,
remarks and stories!
Hi
Mad-Eyes'ers! My name is Bartie
and I'm the Webmaster of this site. I'm a 30-year old guy
from Belgium and I work in the field of Communication
& Marketing. This website started of as a studies project
and then turned out into a devoted hobby, combining my passion
for Madonna with that for the Internet. I got into Madonna when
someone gave me The Immaculate Collection
for my 15th birthday. When Ray Of Light
was released five years later, I became a real dedicated fan.
After spending more than 30 hours in queu in front of the venue
in Barcelona to see the first show of the Drowned
World Tour, I could officially call myself a die-hard fan.
Since then I've seen several shows from front row. One of the
most special was the 2005 gig at G.A.Y.,
where my friend Marcin and I spend over 27 hours waiting in London's
cold weather to see her from half a meter away! It was during
that show that Marcin took some fantastic shots from Madonna,
which I published on Mad-Eyes. Amazingly, Madonna's management
contacted me to buy one of the pictures, coz *quote*: "Madonna
loves it"! After they bought the rights, they used it as
cover for the Sorry single!
How cool is that! :-) Another Madonna highlight was when I got
the chance to meet her during the Abdi book signing in London.
She was so kind and witty and patient... absolutely proved the
positive image I had of her! My good-bye phrase to her really
sums up my admiration for her: "Thank you for your inspiration!"

Now
it's my turn! I'm Dani from Hungary, the Assistant
of this site. I'm a 22-year old guy and I'm a law student. I found
this website in 2002, not long after I discovered Madonna's fantastic
music and became a Madonna fan. After endlessly mailing the Webmaster
with constructive criticism on the site for a while, we got to
know each other and I joined the Mad-Eyes team. With him being
a great teacher, I was introduced to the secrets and joys of website-managing,
and since then I continue adding interesting details to the Mad-Eyes
discography and try to keep the news section always up-to-date.
When you need info about Madonna's chart
positions or sales numbers, I'm your guy! Together with Bartie,
I also try to come up with fun and original new polls and trivia
questions for the homepage, and we provide answers to our fanmail.
Thanks to the Webmaster, I had my first live Madonna experience
on the Confessions
Tour in Paris. Standing next to each other, we gazed at the
gorgeous woman telling a
tale to us from the cross. That's when I was finally convinced
that Madonna is the best entertainer and that she looks even more
beautiful in person than on pix or in videos. I love Madonna's
songs, videos, shows, looks, everything (seriously, what's not
to love in her?), but it was the American
Life album in particular that pushed me into the die-hard
fan category and since then, she can't let me go. Guess I'm not
revealing a big secret when I admit it was a difficult task to
pick my favourites! ;-) I applaud Madonna for entertaining and
pleasing her fans for an incredible 25 years already, and I hope
she still has many productive years ahead of her! My second Madonna experience was at the London stop of the Sticky & Sweet Tour, which I considered as the perfect celebration of her 25th anniversary in the music business, as she included one song from each of her albums, making it a perfectly balanced show for fans of all ages. She's still as hot as ever, even the devil wouldn't recognize her!
